I arrived at the airport early morning on Oct 8 to find the whole group there : lots of french-speaking people ! ;) The departure for some of us was only at 2h30pm so we had the morning free to go in town. I went back to the economic development office and they opened the visitor centre for our group ! Paul told us about the region and all.
Then, after 4pm or so we took our flight to Paulatuk. It felt like almost landing on the ocean at that point ! The airport is so close to it. When we arrived to Paulatuk, the transfers began by helicopter. The helicopter. Wow, what an amazing experience ! Loved it, felt like a ladybug or something and landing on the ship was awesome !! I have my own cabin, which is great. We had our first meeting tonight and tomorrow morning we’ll start talking about the labs and the preparation. We have the whole day to get prepared ! So, here we go ! It’s real !
Good night !
=====================
